The Intermec CK32 Intrinsically Safe (CK32IS)
mobile computer carries the most extensive list of global
hazardous environmental ratings of any rugged mobile
computer in the world – UL (Underwriter's Laboratory), ATEX
(European Atmospheres Explosibles Directives) and IECEx
(International Electrotechnical Commission) – making it the
safest choice for workers in the chemical, oil and gas, and
pharmaceutical industries.
The CK32IS meets or exceeds the most stringent
requirements, not only for gases, vapors and liquids, but
also for dusts, fibers and even, in certain regions,
underground mining applications.
Rugged Design
The highly durable construction of the CK32IS
reflects the operational reality of these environments:
Breakage in a hazardous location is more than a matter of
downtime and inconvenience – it's potentially lethal. The
rugged CK32IS has achieved an IP67 sealing and 5 foot drop
spec, and is the only mobile computer to achieve Zone 0
certification, which designates "double fault" safety in
environments in which flammable gases are always present
under normal operating conditions.
The CK32IS provides the optimum
combination of real time operation, tools support and
standard connectivity by incorporating all the leading
industrial mobile computing technologies – Microsoft®
Windows Mobile® operating system, 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth®,
VoIP support, integrated scanning, USB and Ethernet.
The intelligent design of the CK32IS also
allows users to easily install or remove scan handles and to
replace batteries within a hazardous environment.
